God-Moments Give You Success

maximios Religion

God blessed many in the Bible by putting them at the right place at the right time, and He continues to do the same for His people today. Read on and let Joseph Prince show you how, when you turn to God in confidence, trusting in His grace and favor rather than your circumstances, you will find God-moments of success!

God wants to share with you the secret of how to live successfully during this time of financial turmoil.

Ecclesiastes 3:15 says, “That which is has already been”. In other words, what is happening now has happened before—history repeats itself. So we can look at how God supplied for His people then and understand how He provides for us today.

It’s interesting to note that in Genesis, there was a global famine during Joseph’s life, and now in the end times, there is also a global financial famine. We see financial experts at a loss as to what to do next, and the news reports are often negative and depressing. Today’s situation can be described in Ecclesiastes 9:12:

Ecclesiastes 9:12
For man also does not know his time: Like fish taken in a cruel net, like birds caught in a snare, so the sons of men are snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.

But let me share some good news with you and show you what God is doing during this “evil time”. In Ecclesiastes 9:11, Solomon says,

Ecclesiastes 9:11
I returned and saw under the sun that—the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.

You Can Ask God For His Best

In the natural world, the fastest person usually wins the race, right? But the Bible says “time and chance happen to them all”. This means that being the fastest to read a financial report or reply to an email may not matter, and being the strongest may not win you a legal or financial battle.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 also says that provisions need not flow to the “wise” nor “men of understanding”. In Hebrew, the word “wise” is chakam, which refers to natural wisdom, not God’s wisdom. Chakam was also used of Pharaoh’s magicians and wise men. So it is not true that just because you possess a high IQ, and have a great accumulation of knowledge, qualifications and experience, you will have riches. And favor doesn’t belong only to men of skill, because those who are most skillful may not necessarily have favor.

So the good news is that you need not be the fastest, smartest or most qualified in order to have success. You only need to ask God for His best. What is important for us today is to look to God for His favor and His timing—when God puts you at the right place at the right time, you are blessed.

A Son Of God, Not Of Adam

It is important to remember that what is happening right now is not from God. This “cruel net” that the world is caught in, this financial famine, was not caused by God. And although “sons of men” may be snared like birds—even financial experts have been taken by surprise and are losing money—this does not apply to you, a believer in Christ.

How do I know this? Let us take a closer look at the term “sons of men”.

There are five Hebrew words for “man”. In Ecclesiastes 9:12—“So the sons of men are snared in an evil time”—the word used is adam, which means mankind or natural man. Therefore, those caught in the evil time are sons of adam, natural man.

Some of you may say, “Pastor Prince, it seems like I’m caught in this net too.” It might seem that way, but you are not. As believers, we are sons of God, not sons of adam. John 1:12 says,

John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…

So we are all, ladies too, sons of God! And once you are a son, you are a son forever. Your heavenly Father wants to give you success, so let’s find out about being at the right place at the right time.

Protection From The ‘Cruel Net’

Now, God-moments can mean guidance from being caught in a “cruel net”. Some years ago, a family from our church went to Penang, Malaysia, for a holiday. They were having a good time at the beach when suddenly one of them was seized by a craving for food from another part of the island. They packed up and left, and within an hour, a tsunami hit. That is an example of how God can lead you—even though your stomach cravings—to be at the right place at the right time.

We also have a testimony from a man in our church, whose son worked in one of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. This man always prays for his son, and on the morning the planes hit the twin towers, his son, who is usually punctual, was very late for work for some reason.

Of course, the son was frustrated, but I truly believe you should not complain when you are late—you never know why God slows you down. If there’s a traffic jam, or slow drivers around you, maybe God is using such moments to protect you.

The Time Of Grace

Since it is so important for us to be at the right place at the right time, let us take a closer look at the words “time and chance happen” in Ecclesiastes 9:11. The word “time” in Hebrew is eth. Eth can also mean “in its season”.

Psalm 1:3 talks about the blessed man being “like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season”. Deuteronomy 28:12 says, “the Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.”

Eth is also used for “in the evening”. Under Levitical law, a man who had sores or a bodily discharge was unclean until the evening. I used to wonder why. Then I found out that God had instructed the Israelites to offer two sacrifices, one in the morning and one in the evening. Both times, lambs were offered. (Exodus 29:38–39)

This is interesting because the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ was crucified at the third hour (9am) and that He breathed His last at the ninth hour (3pm). (Mark 15:25; Luke 23:44–46) Thus, He is the Lamb of God who fulfills both the morning and evening sacrifices. So we see that the time of the evening sacrifice is the time of the finished work, the time of grace. Now I understand why a man was unclean until the evening—he was unclean until the evening sacrifice, which speaks of Jesus’ finished work!

The Grace Zone

Just as God answered when Elijah called upon Him in the evening to send the fire that defeated the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18:36–38), God will answer your prayers when you pray in the time of eth. This doesn’t refer to the physical time, so don’t only pray or plan important events in the evening! Praying in the time of eth means praying in the time of grace. It is praying in the grace zone.

We can confirm that eth is based on grace and the finished work by using the principle of first mention. In Bible interpretation, when a subject is mentioned for the first time, it carries a special significance.

The first time eth appears in the Bible is in the story of Noah. Noah sent out a raven to see if the flood waters had receded and if there was dry land, but the raven did not return. Then he sent out a dove, which returned as there was no dry land to rest. Seven days later, Noah sent the dove out again, and “the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth”. (Genesis 8:11)

The words “in the evening” is eth, so we can see that eth is associated with a dove—a picture of the Holy Spirit—and an olive leaf, symbolizing a message of peace. Today, the Holy Spirit is inside you, and He speaks peace to you. He does not point out your faults. Instead, He tells you that you are righteous in Christ.

Today, judgment has passed like Noah’s flood, and there is no longer any enmity between you and God. You are not perfect, but you have peace with God because all your imperfections, all your sins, were carried by Jesus at the cross. (Romans 5:1) And when you are conscious of Jesus’ finished work, you are in the grace zone.

Praying For Success To ‘Happen’

When Abraham decided to find a wife for his son Isaac, he sent a loyal servant back to his father’s village to look for one, as he did not want Isaac to marry a neighboring Canaanite who worshipped idols. So the servant traveled to Mesopotamia and arrived outside the city of Nahor at evening time. (Genesis 24:1–11) Again, we see the use of eth, in the evening, the time of grace.

The servant wondered how he would find the woman that God had appointed for Isaac. Now, he was smart and knew what to do. He prayed. And his prayer is recorded for us in verse 12: “O Lord God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day”.

The Bible says that he prayed for success! The “success” that Abraham’s servant prayed for is qarah, which means “happen”. This is the same word used in Ecclesiastes 9:11, “time and chance happen to them all”.

And the servant continued praying, specifying the way God would reveal the appointed woman—that she would be the one who would draw water from the well for him and his 10 camels. And before he had finished praying, it happened that Rebekah came to the well and ended up drawing water for him and all his camels. Now, when you consider that one camel can drink 100 to 150 liters of water, that’s a lot of water to draw from a well!

So we see Abraham’s servant turning to God confidently and praying for success, and he received his God-moment. What is success? It is being at the right place at the right time for God-happenings to happen to you. So pray in a similar way for success in all areas of your life.

Our God is a God of success, not a God of failures. When He made the world, the birds and the trees, He made them perfectly. We also believe in a big God with a big heart—no matter how much you ask, there will still be plenty left over. He won’t be surprised when you ask for success in your life. So don’t ever let anyone discourage you from praying for success.

Don’t Dwell In The Law Zone

Sadly, many believers prefer the law zone, the effort zone, to the grace zone. They still believe that they have to keep the law to be holy. I believe in holiness, but I believe it comes by grace, not by keeping the law. If you can be holy by keeping the law, there is no need for Jesus to come.

I like the way the apostle Paul says to put “no confidence in the flesh”. (Philippians 3:3) But I often hear people say, “I’m over 50. It’s very hard to find a job. Employers consider your age, you know.” A person who says this is not in the grace zone, but in the law zone. His eyes are on his flesh. He doesn’t expect a good job, and he has more confidence in his age impeding him than in God’s grace to supply him with a job. That frustrates God’s grace from working in his life. He has forgotten that grace is unearned, undeserved favor! (Romans 5:21, AMP)

Put Your Confidence In God

It is better to put confidence in the Lord for favor than to depend on your own abilities or qualifications.

Become a person in the grace zone who prays like this: “Thank you Lord, I can receive Your grace, Your favor, because I don’t deserve it. I don’t qualify for it, therefore it’s mine.” You will find that it delights God to use what you feel is your problem area for success.

When I was in my teens, I used to stutter, and all my classmates would laugh at me. But now, by God’s grace, He uses the area of my weakness to impact lives for the gospel of Jesus Christ. And I’m here to tell you that what you think is your disqualification is the very area where His favor can flow. (2 Corinthians 12:9–10)

If you are struggling to see beyond your situation, remember the story of Ruth. She looked beyond her circumstances and did not place her confidence in them. In the natural, she did not have much going for her. She was a widow, and a foreigner—a Moabitess. There is a law of Moses against Moabites, which says that no Moabite can enter the Lord’s congregation. (Deuteronomy 23:3)

Thirdly, Ruth was poor. So she could easily have looked at her situation and given up. But instead of bemoaning all these negative points, what did she do? She asked for favor! She said to her mother-in-law Naomi, “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.” (Ruth 2:2)

Ruth believed in the favor of God, confessed it, and this was the result: “And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz”. (Ruth 2:3) Out of all the fields she could have chosen, she just happened to come to Boaz’s field. And Boaz was from Naomi’s family line, a man of great wealth, and a bachelor. When Ruth trusted in God, He blessed her with qarah—she happened to be at the right place at the right time.

When God-Moments Just Happen To Happen

God can also put you at the right place for you to be a blessing to others. Once, I was with my wife at a mall, and I had to go to the men’s room. When I came out, I was strangely attracted to an exit door that I had not come in by.

When I opened that door, I saw a lady in a cleaner’s uniform sitting on the stairs, reading a Bible. We looked at each other, and I felt a little embarrassed, so I closed the door and left. But the Lord stopped me and said He didn’t lead me to the door for nothing. He wanted me to go back and tell the lady the words He would put in my mouth.

So I went back and told the lady the Lord had sent me to tell her that Jesus loves her very much, and that her miracle was on its way. You should have seen her face—it lit up like a neon light!

Some years ago, I was returning from a conference in Holland and was looking forward to some private time to rest on the flight back. A lady sat down next to me, and asked if I was Pastor Prince. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love to meet people, but I was tired from the many sessions of preaching.

But as she began to share with me, I realized that God was putting me at the right place at the right time to minister His grace and love. The lady was having problems with her husband and I told her that it was important she received God’s Word before I prayed for her. So I lent her my iPod to listen to one of my sermons on grace. After she finished, she asked for more, and she ended up listening to four or more sermons during the flight.

When we reached Singapore, she was all aglow, and said that she was going to ask the Lord to come into her life and marriage. I could see the transformation on her face, and you know something? When I stood up, I suddenly felt so happy and blessed. I felt really honored and trusted by God, and I understood what Jesus meant when He said He was refreshed after ministering to the woman at the well. (John 4:6–34)

I felt that that was a God-moment for this lady. Some months later, I found out that the lady and her husband had started attending our church together. To God be the glory!

So you know you are at the right place at the right time when God blesses you or uses you to bless others. He knows what you have, and what another person has, and He can put two people together for success, whether it is in business, love, friendship, or spreading the gospel.

And it’s important to look beyond your natural circumstances and trust God to give you success. Only He can put you at the right place at the right time. When you pray confidently and flow in God’s grace, He will lead you to the abundant, blessed life He has promised you.

The Power Of Telling It To Jesus

maximios Religion

Ever wished for a friend whom you can always confide in, and who never fails to impart peace and strength to you so you can face the issues of life? There’s one friend who does—and He’s none other than our amazing Lord Jesus!

As the words of this beloved hymn go:

What a friend we have in Jesus All our sins and griefs to bear What a privilege to carry

Everything to God in prayer.

Do you notice how the hymn’s writer calls praying a privilege? That’s because Jesus is a friend whom you can have heart-to-heart talks with. And you don’t have to speak in perfect sentences or follow some religious formula.

As the psalmist David once wrote so beautifully, “Hear me as I pray, O LORD….My heart has heard you say, ‘Come and talk with me.’ And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming” (Ps. 27:7–8 NLT).

I’ve personally experienced the benefits of having such heart-to-heart talks with the Lord, especially on my evening walks with Him. I can’t explain it but He always adds something to me through our conversations. I find myself more at peace, more conscious of His superabounding supply for all of life’s demands, or that He has imparted strength to me.

I believe the same is just waiting for you. As you pour out your heart to Jesus, He won’t let you leave the same way you came. He’ll give you His strength, infuse you with His peace (see Ps. 29:11 NLT), and so much more.

Why You Can Tell It To Jesus

You might be thinking, But I’ve sinned and failed so much. How can I stand in the Lord’s presence, much less call Him my friend?

Yes, it’s true that sin once separated us from God. But He loved us so much that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for all our sins. And Jesus rose again on the third day, proving that we’re now completely forgiven and reconciled to God (see Rom. 4:25, 2 Cor. 5:19).

That’s why He will never leave you nor forsake you today. In fact, He’s telling you, “Let me see your face; let me hear your voice. For your voice is pleasant, and your face is lovely” (Song of Sol. 2:14 NLT).
Telling It To Him Is Faith

Another concern I often hear is, But Pastor Prince, according to Mark 11:23, I’m not praying in faith if I simply tell Jesus about my problems!

My friend, although there is definitely a place for Mark 11:23 prayers, don’t all of us have days when we are so discouraged we just have no strength to speak to the mountains in our lives? God understands and He calls it faith when we simply come to Him as we are, in our discouragement and distress, seeking His comfort, strength, and grace.

As the psalmist David wrote, “I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare before Him my trouble” (Ps. 142:2). These words were likely written when David was hiding in a cave from Saul, discouraged and fearful. But at the end of the psalm, David tells God, “You are good to me” (Ps. 142:7 NLT).

So like David, will you pour out your heart before the Lord, and allow Him to restore your soul and bring deliverance to your situation?

He’s More Than A Listening Ear

Indeed, there are very tangible benefits of telling it to Jesus. He not only loves you and is your listening ear, but He also has the power to give you success in all things (see 3 John 1:2).

And you can tell Him about anything that’s eating you, whether it’s, “Lord, I’m worried about these symptoms in my body.” Or, “Lord, my marriage is breaking down. I don’t know what to do.” Or even, “I’m just so tired and discouraged, Lord. I don’t feel like reading the Bible or talking to You!” Nothing catches Jesus by surprise. In fact, the more honest you are with Him, the more you’ll sense His comforting nearness and strength, and experience His saving power in the days to come.

So I shan’t keep you anymore, my friend. Go enjoy some alone time with Jesus and let Him know what’s on your heart. Then, “What a friend we have in Jesus” won’t just be lyrics in a hymn, but will become your glorious, life-transforming reality

Seeing Jesus In The Word Gives Life!

maximios Religion

Gabriel layed quietly on the bed. His father, one of my faithful leaders, had brought him over to my place for a birthday celebration for one of the kids. But instead of running around expending rambunctious, youthful energy, or frantically pushing buttons on the latest gaming gizmo with the rest of the children, I saw the bright-eyed boy reading a book intently.

A little curious, I went over to him to see what book he was reading. To my surprise, he was reading the Bible! What a precious sight it was to me. It touched my heart to see this eight-year-old boy showing a desire for God’s Word. But when I bent down and looked closer, I realized that he was reading the Introduction and Preface—the very first few pages of his Bible!

I couldn’t help but smile wide and love the boy. I knew that in Gabriel’s sincere desire to read the Bible, he didn’t want to miss anything. Every word of God was precious to him, and in his young mind, it included the words in the Introduction and Preface. He simply wanted to read his Bible from cover to cover—literally!

This precious child was headed in the right direction, but he certainly could do with some guidance, I thought to myself. The last thing I wanted was for him to get bored, confused or stuck in the Introduction and Preface, and say, “Pastor Prince, the Bible’s boring!”

So I said to the lad, “Hey, Gabriel, you’re reading the Bible. That’s wonderful! Are you enjoying it? You know where I like to start? I like to start with the Gospels. You can read about Jesus our hero and all the amazing things He did.” I brought him to the Gospels and saw that he was all the more excited!

God’s Word Supplies Life

You know, many of us aren’t very different from little Gabriel. Many of us have a desire to read the Word, but we’re not sure how to go about it. My friend, I encourage you to take the advice I offered Gabriel: When you open your Bible, zoom in straight on Jesus. Home in right on our beautiful Savior. Then, you will experience life when you read God’s Word.

When you come to God’s Word desiring to see Jesus and you find Him and behold Him in the Word, something special happens to you. LIFE is supernaturally imparted to you. You see, God is in the business of supplying life to every area of your life. In the Book of Proverbs, it says that God’s words “are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh”. (Proverbs 4:22) This means that if you are tired, reading God’s Word will recharge and energize you. If you are depressed, it will pull you out of the darkness of depression, set your mind free and bring peace and joy. And if you are sick, it will bring a flood of healing and divine health to your body!

In fact, receiving God’s life includes experiencing revival and resurrection in barren or dead areas of your life. God’s life is what you need when you see signs of death in your circumstances. Is your marriage failing? Have your dreams been crushed or put on the back burner? Have your finances dissolved into a sea of debts? Beloved, if there’s death operating in any area of your life, don’t despair and don’t lose hope! Don’t struggle, strive and scheme to make things happen. Beloved, cast your cares to the Lord for He cares for you, and just spend time in God’s Word to receive His supply of life. His resurrection life will put that spark back into your marriage—turning plain water into intoxicating wine! It will breathe life into your dead dreams or birth new ones in your heart. It will cause a “multiplication of loaves” in your finances, so that you will have more than enough for you and your family!

See Jesus In The Word

There will be an impartation of God’s kind of health and life to every area of your life. It comes not just by simply reading the Word superficially, but by seeing Jesus in the Word. You may ask, “Well, all that sounds really cool, but what does it mean to see Jesus in the Word? How do I do that so that I can receive God’s supply of life?”

Those are good and fair questions. Let me start by explaining that contrary to popular opinion, the Bible is not a book of rules for right living. No, the Bible is ALL about Jesus. Every page speaks of Jesus, God’s Son, the object of His delight!

Once, when my daughter was little, I asked her what she thought the Bible was all about. I will never forget her answer:

“Daddy, it’s a book about Jesus with a red string in it.”

By “red string” she meant the long piece of narrow red cloth that serves as a bookmark. But do you see God’s wisdom in her words? Talk about God speaking to you through your little ones! Simple yet profound! Yes, the Bible is all about Jesus, but more specifically, it is about His loving sacrifice at Calvary. The red string or “scarlet thread” represents the blood of Jesus and His death on the cross. His blood has cleansed us of every sin and His death has brought us abundant and everlasting life! From Genesis to Revelation, our Bible has one grand theme—our Lord Jesus and His perfect sacrifice.

So you see, the Bible is not about us. It is all about Jesus and what He has done for us. Yet, when you find Him in the Word, you find yourself in Him for “as He is, so are we in this world”. (1 John 4:17) You discover that as He is righteous, accepted and favored before God, so are you. As He is full of health, wholeness and life, so are you!

Beloved, I want to show you how when you see Jesus in the Word, you experience His life. Jesus said these amazing words, “…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) He also said, “…The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63) In other words, you allow Jesus’ supply of life to flow in your life when you see or behold Him in the Word. This is precisely how you are transformed from glory to glory. (2 Corinthians 3:18) As you keep beholding the Lord and His glory, you’ll be transformed—from sickness to health, from knowing only lack to experiencing abundance, and from having an unforgiving heart to having a joyful and loving heart.

Now, when I say “see Jesus in the Word”, I don’t mean seeing Him in the flesh or just reading about Him as you would read a novel. I mean seeing His goodness toward you, His manifold excellencies and glories, and especially His perfect sacrifice for you.

It’s Really All About Jesus

Many of the Bible stories, parables and even Old Testament feasts and laws are actually about Jesus, His love for you and His finished work at Calvary. The Bible is really all about Jesus: He is the magnificent, watertight ark of salvation in the ancient flood of Noah. In the story of Abraham’s sacrifice, He is the strong and youthful Isaac, who carried the wood (the cross) up Mount Moriah (Mount Calvary). Then, on Mount Moriah, He is the true sacrificial ram sent from the Father and caught in the thicket.

In the life story of Joseph in the Book of Genesis, Jesus is our heavenly Joseph. He came to His own, but His own did not receive Him. Rejected by His brothers, He found comfort in a Gentile bride, and became a blessing to the Gentile world. But He has not forgotten His brothers, who will recognize Him at His second appearance. Isn’t this the story of God’s ancient people, Israel? They rejected their Brother-Messiah, but will acknowledge Him at His second appearance.

In the love story of Ruth, He is our heavenly Boaz, our willing and most able kinsman redeemer. In the law of the Hebrew servant, He is that faithful servant, the one who said, “I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,” and who was pierced and who remains a servant forever. (Exodus 21:5–6)

In the Book of Leviticus, the details of His sufferings and crucifixion are hidden in the details of the offerings. In the Book of Judges, when Samson stretched out his hands and pushed against the two pillars moments before his death (Judges 16:29–30), what do you see? The cross of Jesus! Like Samson, Jesus accomplished more (against our enemies) in His death than in His life on earth.

See Jesus’ Goodness, Grace And Love Toward You

These are just some Old Testament examples of seeing Jesus. He is in the Old Testament concealed, and in the New Testament revealed. And although you can read plainly about Him and His awesome miracles in the New Testament, ask the Holy Spirit to show you glimpses of His glory—His goodness, grace and love toward you. See His glory, when He stretched forth His hand and touched the leper before He healed him, because our compassionate Lord knew that this poor outcast had not been touched or hugged for a long time.

When our Lord raised Jairus’ daughter from the dead, He wasn’t too “spiritual” to forget the child’s basic needs. While everyone else was overcome with amazement, Jesus was practical enough to tell the people to give the child something to eat. And although this girl’s healing had “URGENT!” stamped all over it, Jesus pushed time aside to minister to a poor woman who had an issue of blood for 12 years. He didn’t want her to just take healing from Him and leave with a guilty conscience. No, He wanted to meet this woman of faith face to face, assure her of her healing, and let her know that she is His beloved daughter. That’s our Jesus—altogether lovely and glorious in His love for you and me!

The Emmaus Road Experience

My friend, you will feel like jumping up and running around when the Holy Spirit unveils Jesus and His glory to you. I’m telling you, it gets my spiritual hormones bubbling and puts goose bumps on my goose bumps! This is what makes reading the Bible an exciting adventure. There’s so much life imparted! It’s not about how many chapters you have read or how much Bible knowledge you have accumulated. It’s all about seeing Jesus and having a personal encounter with Him. It’s all about having an intimate relationship with Him and receiving His generous supply of life!

I like to call this the Emmaus Road experience. When Jesus opened up the Scriptures to two of His disciples along the road to Emmaus, and “expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself” (Luke 24:27), it had a profound effect on the dejected disciples. Their hearts burned within them with the warmth of God’s love as He showed them how the stories, feasts and laws in the Old Testament books were all talking about Him and His sacrifice at Calvary.

And at the end of that life-producing Bible study, the disciples were no longer a tired, confused and depressed duo. They were divinely uplifted and energized, and even walked the whole seven miles back to Jerusalem. That’s what seeing Jesus in the Word and receiving His life will do to your body and soul! (I talk a lot more about the Emmaus Road experience in Chapter 15 of my book, Destined To Reign. I encourage you to read it for more insights into this heart-warming and life-generating experience of seeing Christ in the Scriptures.)

Receiving Healing And Life By The Spirit Of The Lord

Beloved, as you simply behold Jesus and His glory, you are transformed into His image from glory to glory. You become more and more like Jesus. He becomes your strength, your wisdom and your holiness. He pours into you His love, joy and peace, driving out every fear in you. You are not changed by your self-efforts. It is by “the Spirit of the Lord”. (2 Corinthians 3:18) If you read the context of this verse, you will see that Paul also wrote, “the Spirit gives life” (verse 6) and “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty”. (Verse 17) That’s why, when you see Jesus in the Scriptures, you encounter His Spirit, and His Spirit imparts life and liberty to you. If you are sick, His life will swallow up that sickness and infuse you with strength. If you are hooked on nicotine or pornography, those chains will be broken and you will experience true freedom!

Many a time, just looking at Jesus in the Gospels has healed me. Once, when I was down with a nasty fever, the Lord told me to simply read about His healing miracles in the Gospels. He even told me to forget the teaching or doctrinal aspects, and to just focus on His grace, compassion and willingness to heal the sick. So in the midst of my weakness, I plunged into the Scriptures and soon found myself in the presence of the Great Physician, the giver of life. I bathed in His love for me and just saw His goodness and willingness to heal me as He healed every single person who came to Him for healing. I didn’t have to wait too long before the fever departed. No hands were laid on me and there was no worship music being played in the background. Without fanfare, but simply by reading the Word in the quietness of my room and soaking in the love of Christ, I received His health unconsciously and effortlessly.

Listen, my friend, if you are sick today, just open your Bible to the Gospels and feed on Jesus in every healing miracle. See His compassion, willingness and power to heal you. Don’t get caught up with the theology or dos and don’ts of healing. Just receive the love of Christ and His abundant supply of healing, health and life. I’m telling you, in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy and overflowing life! His joy is your strength and His resurrection life will drive out that sickness!

Beloved, that’s how you partake of the divine life and nature of God. That’s how you make chronic fatigue and long-term ailments a thing of the past. That’s how you walk in His divine health, strength, vigor and life every day. So make a decision today to open your Bible. Begin to seek and see the Lord. He is your healer and provider. I tell you, you can’t help but walk in a greater measure of health and prosperity!

His Life For Persistent Conditions

“Pastor Prince, I’ve been doing that for the past week, but I’m still sick. Is there something wrong with me? What should I do?”

My friend, don’t feel condemned because you are still sick and don’t give up on your healing. I know—and I want you to know—beyond a shadow of a doubt that your heavenly Father wants you well. His will is for you to be healthy and strong! (3 John 1:2) Don’t go by what you can see or feel, but by the unchanging Word of God. His Word is truth and it supersedes all the negative reports and symptoms. Keep seeing and feeding on Jesus in the Word, even if the symptoms persist. Just continue to read the Word, mixing it with faith as you behold the glory of Jesus and His amazing love for you. You will get better and better each day—first the thirtyfold, then the sixtyfold and finally the hundredfold!

Maybe your challenge right now isn’t a physical condition. The answer is still the same—whatever your challenge or weakness, however long they’ve persisted, continue to see the beauty and compassion of the Lord Jesus in the Word. If you’ve been trusting God for a financial breakthrough, see Him taking a paltry portion of two fish and five loaves and multiplying it for people He had compassion on. As you feed on His willingness and ability to take care of you, the same miracle will manifest in your life.

Maybe what you want to see is a resurrection of romance and love in your relationship with your husband or wife. So see Him turning the water into wine at the wedding in Cana. Just as He turned plain water into intoxicating wine for the wedding couple (blessing them also with prosperity), He will do the same for your relationship without you struggling to do it on your own.

‘Open My Eyes, Lord!’

My friend, I hope that I have ignited a fresh desire in you to get into God’s Word. Are you ready for an exciting road trip to Emmaus? Are you ready to receive an infusion of life and experience glorious transformation? Then, start your adventure with an honest prayer. Come to the Father and say, “Father, open my eyes to see Jesus in all His glory, beauty and love toward me. I am ready for Emmaus Road. I am ready to receive an impartation of life and be transformed!”

You are not just reading any book, you are
reading God’s precious love letter to you!

So open your Bible knowing that God loves you intimately and unconditionally and wants to commune with you. When you realize that He is your best friend and lover, it’s not hard to hear from Him or to talk to Him. His Holy Spirit in you will open up the Scriptures to you and guide you into all His loving truths.

That’s how I approach reading the Bible. I don’t rely on my own intelligence nor do I assume that the Scriptures will open up to me just because I am a pastor. But I believe that God loves me despite my inadequacies, and just like you, I need to depend on the Holy Spirit. And while I have numerous Bible study software, concordances, dictionaries and access to a wealth of Bible information on the Internet, I don’t depend on these things. I may use them, but my dependence is still completely on the Holy Spirit, the one who inspired the Bible and who always bears witness to and opens our eyes to Jesus.

Beloved, come to God and His Word like a little child, and stand under the shower of His never-ending supply of life. While you may already be familiar with many of the stories in the Bible, read them again with fresh eyes, trusting the Holy Spirit to show you God’s grace and compassion toward you. You won’t be disappointed. God’s Word gives life! You will experience His abundant supply of life as you simply allow the waves of His love and glory to wash over you!

An Invitation

maximios Religion

I shook my head in disbelief. This couldn’t be the right place. After all, I couldn’t possibly be welcome here. I had been given an invitation several times, by several different people, and had finally decided to see what this place was all about.

But, this just couldn’t be the right place.

I glanced down at the invitation that I clutched in my hand. I scanned past the words, “Come as you are. No jacket required.” and found the location.

Yes, I was at the right place.

I peered through the window again and saw a room of people whose faces seemed to glow with joy. All were neatly dressed, adorned in fine garments and appeared strangely clean as they dined at this exquisite restaurant. Ashamed, I looked down at my own tattered and torn clothing, covered in stains. I was dirty, in fact, filthy. A foul smell seemed to consume me

and I couldn’t shake the grime that clung to my body.

I turned around to leave, the words from the invitation seemed to leap out at me… “Come as you are. No jacket required.”

I decided to give it a shot.

Mustering up every bit of courage I could find, I opened the door to this restaurant and walked up to a man standing behind a podium. “Your name, sir?” he asked me with a smile. I mumbled my name without looking up. I thrust my hands deep into my pockets,

hoping to conceal their stains.

He didn’t seem to notice the filth that I was covered in and he continued, “Very good, Sir. A table is reserved in your name. Would you like to be seated?” I couldn’t believe what I heard! A grin broke out on my face and I said,

“Yes, of course!”

He led me to a table and, sure enough, there was a place card with my name written on it in a deep, dark red. As I browsed over a menu, I saw many delightful items listed. There were things like, “peace,” “joy,” “blessings,” “confidence,” “assurance, ” “hope,” “love,” “faith,” and “mercy.”

I realized that this was no ordinary restaurant!

I flipped the menu back to the front in order to see where I was at… “God’s Grace”

was the name of this place!

Luke 19 the stones will cry out

maximios Religion

1Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through.

2A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.

3He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd.

4So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

5When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”

6So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

7All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a ‘sinner.’”

8But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

9Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.

10For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”

11While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once.

12He said: “A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return.

13So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. ‘Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come back.’

14“But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be our king.’

15“He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.

16“The first one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned ten more.’

17“‘Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’

18“The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned five more.’

19“His master answered, ‘You take charge of five cities.’

20“Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth.

21I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’

22“His master replied, ‘I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?

23Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?’

24“Then he said to those standing by, ‘Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’

25“‘Sir,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’

26“He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away.

27But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.’”

28After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

29As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them,

30“Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

31If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ tell him, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

32Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them.

33As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?”

34They replied, “The Lord needs it.”

35They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it.

36As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road.

37When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

38“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

39Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

40“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

41As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it

42and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.

43The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side.

44They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”

45Then he entered the temple area and began driving out those who were selling.

46“It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be a house of prayer’; but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”

47Every day he was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him.

48Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.

What Is Salvation by Joseph Prince

maximios Religion

What Is Salvation?
By Joseph Prince

Salvation is to be savedófrom hell, from a broken relationship with God, and from the curses that plague mankind as a result of Adamís fall in the Garden of Eden.

You see, God made Adam and gave him dominion over the earth, but Adam committed high treason, and bowed his knee to an outlaw spirit called Satan, and with his fall, gave dominion of the earth over to Satan. God sent Jesus as the Second Adam, to redeem the sons of Adam from their sin, and to redeem this earth from Satanís dominion.

To believe in Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior is to receive this very redemption, and all that He has done for you through His one perfect sacrifice on the cross! Your sins are forever dealt with, you receive Godís own righteousness and you can step boldly into Godís presence. He will no longer just be God Almighty to you, but also YOUR heavenly Father.

In exchange for all the pain, suffering and lack that are so prevalent in the fallen world, you can look to your Daddy God and confidently expect His blessings of health, provision and protection. And ultimately, you will get to spend an eternity with God in heaven as your home.

Why Do I Need Salvation?

The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), and in and of ourselves, we have no way to escape the punishment for sins. Without Christ, we had a one way ticket to eternal separation from God.

However, our God is a good God, and our God is love (1 John 4:8, 16). And because He loves us so much, He Himself provided a way out of hell (Matthew 5 and Mark 9) and into everlasting life (John 3:16).

So God sent His own beloved Son Jesus Christ to take our place on the cross, to bear the full weight of Godís wrath and punishment for all our sins on His own body, and to die our death. Only Jesus Christ, the perfect and sinless Son of God (Hebrews 4:15), can fully satisfy the righteous demands of God’s holiness in payment for our sins.

Hence, it is only through our believing in Jesus and His perfect finished work that we can be saved, step boldly into the presence of our heavenly Father (Hebrews 4:16), and expect abundant life on earth (John 10:10) and a glorious future in heaven. There is no other way to be saved apart from making a decision to accept what Jesus has done for you. (Acts 4:12)

How Do I Get Saved?

Salvation is a gift from God, and comes through believing in Jesus and Jesus alone.

In John 14:6, the Bible tells us very clearly that Christ is the only way to God and eternal life, and in Romans 10:9Ė11, the Bible tells us how to be saved and have eternal life: Believe in our hearts that Jesus died for our sins and was raised from the grave, and confess with our mouths that He is our Lord and Savior.

To accept Christ into your life and be saved, please say this salvation prayer.

ďHeavenly Father, thank You for Your love for me, for sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross for all my sins. His precious blood washes me clean. You raised Him from the dead. Heís alive today. And I thank You all my sins are forgiven. Iím righteous by the blood. Iím under Godís favor. And I thank You Father that surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life from this day forth. In Jesusí name, Amen.Ē

What Happens After I Get Saved?

Once you have accepted Jesus into your life, your entire position in Godís kingdom changesóyou are no longer a sinner, but a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and an heir of God (Romans 8:17).

Today, as Jesus is in heaven, so are you in this world (1 John 4:17)! God loves you unconditionally and wants to bless you. He is forever on your side (Romans 8:31), and He has declared that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

It is very important for you to continue hearing about Jesus and your new identity in Him, and to learn of all the blessings that He purchased at the cross for you to enjoy.

How To Make Grace Your Way Of Life

maximios Religion

I once asked the Lord, “What does it mean to live under grace?” and this was His response, “When you are conscious of My constant supply to you, you are living under grace.”

Sometimes, though, we can’t help but be more conscious of the daily demands placed on us. Perhaps yours look like this: Providing for your family, acing that huge presentation at work, needing healing for a long-term condition, or paying off that loan.

These demands are legitimate, but can leave you harassed and stressed if they’re bombarding your thoughts from morning to night.

My friend, God loves you and He’s got a better way.

The next time these demands flood your mind, look away from them, see His supply of grace upon grace instead (Fresh Grace For Every Trouble), and receive all that you need from Him.

When you wake up every morning, tell Him, “Lord, I see Your supply of grace flowing toward me right now. It’s more than enough for every single demand I will face today.”

I also pray that the rising sun will remind you of God’s superabundant supply: Every hour, it shines more than enough energy onto the Earth to satisfy global energy needs for a full year, and whatever is unused goes back into space.*

Keep that picture in mind—for it’s in shifting your focus onto God’s lavish supply, instead of life’s demands, that grace starts becoming your way of life.

How I Experienced His Grace

Once, I bumped into a precious church member in a food court. She told me how she’d been having back pains for a few days, and asked me to pray for her.

I looked around me—the setting wasn’t “right”. There was no anointed worship music, only the chatter of people and the clatter of cutlery and crockery. I thought to myself, “You want me to pray for you here? Now?”

Then, I remembered what the Lord had been telling me about looking to His supply.

So right there and then, I laid hands on her and prayed, “Father, I just thank You for Your supply of grace. I thank You that there’s more grace here than her pain…thank You that she’s completely healed in Jesus’ name.”

It was just a simple prayer, but said with the consciousness of God’s gracious supply. The lady thanked me after that, and we chatted for a while. Then all of a sudden, she exclaimed, “Oh hey, it’s gone! The pain that’s been there for a number of days is gone!”

I recall just standing there, warmed by God’s love for her—and amazed at the sheer beauty of His grace which is not too haughty to walk into the most ordinary of situations, and leaves His people transformed by His goodness.

Jesus Made Grace His Way of Life Too

Now, let me show you how Jesus Himself made grace His way of life: He was conscious of His heavenly Father’s superabundant supply, even in the face of demands which were completely impossible to meet in the natural.

And because Jesus lives within all of us believers (see Gal. 2:20), you too can do so.

Remember how He was once approached by a great multitude of over 5,000 people—and the only food He had to give them were five loaves and two small fish? But Jesus didn’t see the overwhelming scarcity; He was conscious instead of His heavenly Father’s superabundant supply of grace which He believed was still flowing toward Him.

The result? As He gave out the loaves and fish, they multiplied until the people could eat as much as they wanted. And when they were filled, there were still twelve basketfuls of bread left over (see John 6:11–12)!

His simple consciousness of God’s always-abundant grace turned a situation of overwhelming demand into one of super-abounding supply.

Are you facing a five-loaves-and-two-fish situation today? If so, I encourage you to read John 6 and saturate your heart with the largeness of God’s supply flowing toward you, even right now. His provision is more than enough for your family, work, finances, and for every demand you’ll ever face in this life.

See His supply and make grace your way of life. It’s a restful and productive way to live.

Five Words To Live By

maximios Religion

By Joseph Prince

The people of Judah honestly thought they were bound for a tragic end.

Three large, bloodthirsty armies–a “great multitude,” the Bible says–were advancing rapidly toward their tribe, threatening to kill them all and take over the land that they had previously inherited from God.

But God had other plans. He intervened spectacularly, setting ambushes against the attacking enemies, and even caused them to utterly kill and destroy each other. Can you believe it? Judah won the battles hands down, literally. They even found an abundance of valuables and precious jewely, all of which took them three whole days to gather. You can read their amazing story in 2 Chronicles 20-37 at the end of this article

Today, we might not find ourselves in actual battles like these, but in other very real battles in the areas of our health, careers, family relationships, or finances. But just as God did for the people of Judah, He is able to deliver us, and even make us gain an advantage from those battles. Hebrews 13:8 says, “He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” The key lies in the words the Lord told His people when they sought Him for help and guidance: “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s”

2 Chronicles 20:15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

The battle is the Lord’s

These were the same words young David announced to Goliath before the giant cam crashing down. These fire words–an unshakable promise of God–turned certain tragedy into undeniable triumph for His people then. This year, victory over our battles can be our reality too when we choose to live by thise five simple words.

VICTORY OVER OUR BATTLES

CAN BE OUR REALITY WHEN

WE CHOOSE TO LIVE BY

THESE FIVE SIMPLE WORDS:

THE BATTLE IS THE LORD’S

Whatever your battle, God wants you, His beloved child, to give that battle over to Him and watch Him take care of your enemies. But so accustomed are we to fighting our own battles that we often find it hard to believe that God wants to take on our battle and do the fighting for us.

This is why I want you to see what transpired between the tribe of Judah’s receiving news about the attacking armies advancing toward them and their eventual amazing victory. I pray you’ll be greatly encouraged to see the Lord’s heart for us in the face of seemingly impossible odds, learn how we can also surrender our battles to the Lord, and see the same kind of results today.

Some Quoted Books and Verses below
for this article

Their amazing story is told in 2 Chronicles 20-37, which says,
20Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” 21After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever.” 22As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. 23The men of Ammon and Moab rose up against the men from Mount Seir to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another. 24When the men of Judah came to the place that overlooks the desert and looked toward the vast army, they saw only dead bodies lying on the ground; no one had escaped. 25So Jehoshaphat and his men went to carry off their plunder, and they found among them a great amount of equipment and clothing and also articles of value—more than they could take away. There was so much plunder that it took three days to collect it. 26On the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Beracah, where they praised the LORD. This is why it is called the Valley of Beracah to this day. 27Then, led by Jehoshaphat, all the men of Judah and Jerusalem returned joyfully to Jerusalem, for the LORD had given them cause to rejoice over their enemies. 28They entered Jerusalem and went to the temple of the LORD with harps and lutes and trumpets. 29The fear of God came upon all the kingdoms of the countries when they heard how the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel. 30And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side. 31So Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah. He was thirty-five years old when he became king of Judah, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-five years. His mother’s name was Azubah daughter of Shilhi. 32He walked in the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD. 33The high places, however, were not removed, and the people still had not set their hearts on the God of their fathers. 34The other events of Jehoshaphat’s reign, from beginning to end, are written in the annals of Jehu son of Hanani, which are recorded in the book of the kings of Israel. 35Later, Jehoshaphat king of Judah made an alliance with Ahaziah king of Israel, who was guilty of wickedness. 36He agreed with him to construct a fleet of trading ships. After these were built at Ezion Geber, 37Eliezer son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, “Because you have made an alliance with Ahaziah, the LORD will destroy what you have made.” The ships were wrecked and were not able to set sail to trade.

2 Chronicles 20:13-15 says
13All the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the LORD. 14Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph, as he stood in the assembly. 15He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
